De Roep voor Soep, which translates in the Call for Soup, is a Dutch initiative that started in the beginning of December 2022.
THE 1st & 2nd EDITION ON DEC 18th & JAN 15th 2023 WERE A BIG SUCCES.
THE NEXT DATE ON WHICH WE ARE GOING TO SOUP NATIONALLY WILL BE PUBLISHED SOON.
This initiative arose from the need to reflect on fellow human beings in the dark days of the year. From the realization that in these winter temperatures some people are cold and that, during the days of being together with the family and extensive dinners, some of them have nothing to eat.
That is why this initiative has been created: the Call for Soup
As the name suggests, you can participate during this day by distributing a warm cup of soup, but also think of blankets, warm clothing or toys for the children who will not find anything under the tree this year. And those who can use some help are invited by their loved ones to receive and can connect at the same time with helpful people in their immediate environment.
It would be a nice sign of charity if we did not do this at a single location, but throughout the Netherlands on the same day in villages or cities where this thought also lives. The Call for Soup does not have a central organization, but offers a ready-made step-by-step plan for everyone who feels the call and wants to participate in organizing this in his or her living environment. Many hands make light work, and who better to take care of the neighbors than the neighbors themselves?
There are many initiatives at the moment that contribute to the connection, such as torchlights and national manifestations. These are not all accessible to everyone due to the current transport costs. So with this initiative, let’s strive for implementation at as many locations as possible, so that it comes to them for whom it is intended, instead them of having to go somewhere else.
